Our hearts are all prison walls when we hold people captive with chains of unforgiveness.

Ikechukwu Izuakor
About This Quote

When we hold people captive with chains of unforgiveness, we are building a prison in our hearts. When we feel angry or resentful about a situation in our lives, we are allowing the other person to imprison us. We are choosing to imprison ourselves in a sense, by holding on to negative thoughts and feelings. As long as we hold on to them, we cannot be free from the pain that comes from these thoughts. These chains have to be broken, and when they are, we can move forward into a place of freedom and peace
